Symptoms of Common Leg Injuries in Runners
The following are the common symptoms of leg injuries that are found among runners.
- Joint Pains
When you do heavy workouts, then it is obvious for you to strain. Joints are the major portion that get affected while running. You might experience rigorous pain in the joints when you do strength training exercises. Joint pains last for 48hrs minimum. This is one of the reasons runners require physical diagnosis soon after they find the symptoms. - Tenderness in Bone
Sometimes, it so happens that you experience pain in only in a specific point. When you touch the other side of the bone then you might not find any pain. In such a case, you need to consult a physician soon after you notice the pain. - Swelling
Swelling is one of the most commonly found symptoms when you are injured. Swelling synchronizes with pain along with redness in the surroundings of the injured area. When you have swelling in the joint, then you might have pain and stiffness in your joint. Swelling occurs because tendons overlap one another, once they are placed into a new position. - Find Differences
When you have an injury in your joints, then you might notice it immediately. It is obvious for you to notice the changes when you are walking. You might not be able to walk properly when you have an injury. It is very important for you to give your attention when you have an injury. - Weakness in your Legs

About a week ago, I woke up and noticed that my legs and trunk area were numb and tingling (the tingling was in my feet), but the numbness ran up my legs to my butt. I have been doing HEAVY lifting (furniture), HARD workouts and am ALWAYS on the go. I am thinking that I may have possibly pinched a nerve, but it’s not getting any better (I am still running..just not lifting weights). I am trying to take it easy and ice my back and take anti-inflammatorys (where on a scale of 1 – 10, it may go from a 5 to a 4). I have seen a chiropractor 4 times, but don’t notice any change. Should I worry about this? what do you recommend? What could I have done?
Thanks,
Amy (age 38)
