    Sports Bras for Large-Chested Runners

adminBy adminMay 12, 2010012 Mins Read

on an average the breasts bounce around of 6-8 inches in large-chested runners. To avoid this inconvenience, special sports bras for large-chested runners are available in the market. For large-chested runners excessive bouncing of breasts is a very annoying and embarrassing problem. It leads to some health problems as well.

The breasts are held up by Cooper’s ligament (connective tissue which helps in maintaining structural integrity). During running these ligaments are stretched beyond their normal stretching limits not once but many times, in case of women with D & E sized (bra industry jargon for large breasts) breasts. This makes the breasts sag. The constant bounce may also lead to stretch marks as well as chaffing.

Recommend Steps for Containing the Bounce of Breasts

    • Never buy a bra that you need to pull on your head to wear it. It indicates that its stretchable limits are high. Such a bra cannot hold your breasts tight enough.
    • Choose a bra which has hooks on the front as well as on the back.
    • The bra needs to be of right size to hold your breasts tight.
    • Go for a nylon bra as it wicks away the moisture quickly.
    • Go for a stronger fabric. The material of your bra should not be stretchy.
    • Don’t worry if your sports bra looks ugly and big. Remember you’re not going to participate in a beauty contest. You are into running exercise.
    • Your sports bra shall contain lot of reinforced fabric, wider bands, and full coverage cups.

Final Advice for Choosing the Right Sized Bra

The following general information is given for your benefit:

    • If your breast size is either C or D or a ‘small’ E, Shock Absorber D+ is the bra that is ideal for you.
    • If the size of your breasts is beyond E, Enell should fit you the best.
