Some experts say that respiratory problems in the childhood such as weak immune system and hyperactivity are also factors responsible for the development of asthmatic bronchitis. This condition often affects smokers.

In many cases, antibiotics are prescribed by the doctors. These antibiotics are accompanied by steroids and inhaled medicines. Bronchodilators are used for treating asthmatic bronchitis. These helps to clear the congestion of airways caused by mucous.
