Types of Asthma Medications
There are two main types of asthma medications. They are controller medications and rescue medications.
Controller Medications
These are also known as preventive medications. They are useful in treating the inflammation and swelling in the airways. They do not treat problems like cough, wheezing and breathing problems. Controller medications act slowly than rescue medications.
Rescue Medications
As the name indicates these are used in emergencies. They are used in the case of a sudden astma attack due to allergens or some unexpected reasons. They are beneficial in treating cough and wheezing. Rescue medications act very fast to heal the symptoms of asthma.
