Walking Pneumonia:

Is Walking Pneumonia Contagious?
Yes, it is indeed contagious. Bacteria may be transmitted from airborne water droplets. Bacteria thrives into host’s respiratory system. Hence, it can be dispersed into air when a patient sneezes, laughs, talks or coughs. Therefore, it is suggested to keep away from walking pneumonia patients who haven’t undergone any treatment. Virus survives in the body for long period, even if it is inactive. Thus, it is advised to stay away from bacteria infected people, unless they are using antibiotics.
Prevention of Walking Pneumonia:
It is very difficult to prevent the disease as it has long incubation period and most people are unaware of it. Consult a doctor, if flu symptoms lasts for more than a week. People with walking pneumonia are advised close their nose and mouth with clinical masks. This condition creates lot of phlegm and fluid accumulation in lungs, that ought to be spitted out, if possible.
