To be successful in today’s action packed sports world, you require a vast amount of air to compete. As it is impossible to increase the size of your lung, novel methods are devised to increase the amount of air taken in by your lungs. Also the efficiency to capture oxygen by your lungs is heightened.
Breathe Deeply:
Ensure that you follow the steps properly as you practice deep breathing. It will help you in maximizing the capacity of your lung. Try to inhale more oxygen with each breath.
- Exhale air out completely. Evacuate your lungs so that it is completely devoid of any air. This ensures more air containing oxygen to fill your lungs. Counting out aloud helps in expelling air out of your lungs.
- Expand your lower ribs. Relax your abdominal muscles allowing your diaphragm to descend downwards. This helps in making more space around your lungs, for further air intake.
- Keep your arms wide open, away from your body. It helps in opening up your chest.
- Inhale and exhale for two counts and three counts, respectively. You have to maintain this counts.
Try To Create Resistance
- Try to breathe in slowly. Take deep breathes through your nostrils.
- Keep your lips close and try exhaling air out through your mouth. Slightly open your lips so that little air goes out. It creates a resistance. Repeat this as often as possible. This makes the sacs in your lungs to stretch further and hold air longer.
- You can try blowing up balloons for the same effect.
Start Counting
Take a deep breath and start counting numbers for as long as you can. Practice this exercise whenever you have time. Try to go for a higher number each time.
