Crack is highly addictive and can be extremely difficult to quit, although it is not impossible. But it is important that you are very strong willed and determined to get rid of the addiction.
Firstly, it is essential that you tell someone you are close to all about your addiction and your decision to quit. Then ask them if they can help you quit and except for concentrating on quitting and yourself, do not let anything else bother you.
These are the things they can do to help you quit your habit of crack abuse.
- Ask them to get you into a counseling program at a rehabilitation center where they may have either individual or group therapy sessions.
- Ask them to accompany you there for the first few times if you are not comfortable by yourself. They can help you talk about your addiction and everything about your life.
- Make sure that they know what withdrawal symptoms are like as they will need to be very calm and patient with you as well as know what to do if you find it difficult to deal with your withdrawal symptoms.
- Ask them to be around you as much as possible and help you keep yourself busy in activities.
- They can find out about support groups where you can go meet people like yourself who have quit their addiction and are leading a drug-free life.
- They will have to help you plan and follow a new diet program that will help the body cope with being free of drugs.
- They will also need to assist you in figuring out a job and life for yourself once you are out of rehabilitation and are ready to start living again.
- If you cannot find someone who can help you do this, you can approach a support group that might be able to aid you in going about with these things and successfully quit for good.
It is important for you to understand how important it is that you quit your habit of crack abuse as soon as possible to avoid any more damage to yourself and to help your body and mind slowly recover and regain health.

You quit by meeting other addicts in recovery, speaking to them and learning how they quit. After that, take their advice and do it one day at a time, the slower the better.
