What is LSD?
LSD or Lysergic acid diethylamide is the most potent drug when it comes to mood altering drugs. It is a hallucinogen. It is derived from the chemical lysergic acid that is found in ergot fungi that grow on rye and some other food grains. It is manufactured in the form of small crystals, but is then converted into a colorless and odorless liquid which is slightly bitter to taste and then sold.
It is usually sold as small pieces of paper, called blotters that are kept on the tongue. They also come in small tablets and very rarely as liquid. It takes effect after anything between 30 to 90 minutes of administering. The effect of one such use, called a “trip”, can last up to 12 hours.
