How to Prevent Obesity?
Obesity can be prevented by making lifestyle changes such as eating healthy and staying active. Diets and other quick fixes only work for short-term, when compared to lifestyle changes which work for long-term. Few changes such as eating more of fruits and vegetables, staying active by taking the stairs, walking the dog etc. and keeping the junk food away can be very much beneficial to prevent obesity
As per the Surgeon General Report every year nearly 300,000 deaths are caused due to obesity and the diseases associated to it. Hence it is advisable to maintain your weight and enjoy a healthy life.
Can Fasting Treat Obesity?
Obese people can practice fasting for one day every week. Fasting provides rest to vital organs of the body associated with digestion. During this process, the body carries out its metabolism by breaking down the stored fat cells. Unlike other cells in the body, fat cells generally do not multiply, until there is a shortage of these cells. They expand in size as more and more fatty molecules get accumulated in these cells.
Fasting provides an opportunity to the body to break down the fat molecules into ATP, which is the basic energy currency of our body. Research studies have confirmed that fasting increases longevity and can prevent several body disorders. This fact is of extreme relevance because the obesity is a physical disorder which is associated with a range of health complications like type 2 Diabetes, breast cancer and heart diseases, to name a few. Practising fasting is a safe and effective treatment technique to address obesity rather than taking medications.
