Solar plexus meditation uses the idea of a solar plexus chakra to calm human mind and body.
The solar plexus chakra is said to be located in the centre of the stomach. This chakra rules our will and creativity. When the energy in this solar plexus chakra is out of balance, we feel insecure, scared, pessimistic and skeptic. If the solar plexus chakra is balanced, we feel positive, joyful, motivated, creative and good humored.
The color of the solar plexus chakra is yellow. You can balance the solar plexus chakra if you meditate on the color yellow.
How to do the solar plexus meditation
There are various ways you can tap the power of the solar plexus chakra. Here are two meditation techniques.
Meditation No.1
Do this on a mat. Relax your body and lie back in the corpse pose, with the whole of your backside touching the mat. Keep your palms facing up. Imagine a yellow flower, its petals fully open, at your solar plexus. With eyes closed, imagine it floating up with each inhalation and down with each exhalation, riding a slow, gentle wave. Concentrate on your breathing and the flower for two to five minutes.
Meditation No.2
Sit back and relax. Take in an easy, deep breath. Relax your muscles. You do not have to make any effort to sit or lie there. Allow yourself to be fully supported by the floor or the chair.
Inhale another gentle, deep breath and release your tension as you exhale. Now turn your focus to your solar plexus. This is the region of your body between your abdomen and chest.
Picture a bright, glowing sun in your solar plexus. Feel its energy and warmth.
Focus on this sun for some time. You may have never paid attention to this area of your body before.
This sun represents your inner strength, your intuition, and all your inner resources. Allow your sun to glow brighter and stronger each time you pay attention to it.
At the end of these meditation techniques, you will feel relaxed and good about yourself.
