Although it sounds good, water fast is very difficult, particularly if you have fast metabolism. This flushes out toxins rapidly and cleanses body aggressively. One should prepare mentally for a 10 day water fast to have less responsibility and pressure. This gives best results. You can plan in advance for water fasting, when on a holiday away from the daily routines. You must prepare the body for this type of severe fasting. Hence, dietitians suggest you to drink fresh juices and also to eat raw fruits and vegetables mostly for cleansing the body, a week before the fast. This leads to trouble-free detoxification in the water fast. In the 10 days water fast, 2 of 3 days of juice fast should be included before and after the fast. This is more effective for cleansing the body completely and also for availing other benefits of water fast such as gaining control over appetite, losing weight, etc.
