Detoxification of lungs is very beneficial especially for those who work at a location where there is heavy pollution and for those who are heavy smokers. The moment you experience difficulty in breathing, or have shortness of breath, or if you are suffering from chronic cough due to smoking, may be its time you decided to go for a lung detoxification. Before starting to do your detoxification, it would be nice if you would quit smoking. This will enable the lungs to regain their natural ability to cleanse and heal themselves. Detoxification of lungs is done with a combination of special vitamins and food supplements which help in flushing out the toxins.
Steps for Lung Detoxification
Follow these simple steps to do an effective detoxification of lungs:
- To your diet, add ginger, pepper, garlic and horseradish. This will help in breaking down and flushing out the unhealthy mucus present in your lungs.
- Pour some water in a water humidifier and to that add some rosemary drops. Everyday, for about 10-15 minutes breath over this humidifier. While breathing, put a towel on top of your head. Follow this procedure everyday until your lungs, head and nose clear up.
- To cleanse the lungs, you require a lot of water. Make it a point to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. More the water the better will be the detoxification. Increased hydration will help in improving the functions of the body’s organs and at the same time helps in flushing out the harmful toxins.
- Give some exercise to your lungs. Physical exercises like swimming, brisk walking or even jogging will help the lungs to properly expand and regain its lost elasticity.
- Each day dedicate some time for exercising your lungs. Slowly and deeply inhale through your nose till the lungs are expanded to the maximum. Hold your breath for about 3 to 4 seconds or even a little more. Now, exhale your breath with a lot of force through your mouth.
- Repeat this procedure for about 20 to 25 times each day.
