Fast 5 is a way of eating in a specified period of time during the day. This diet was endorsed by Bert Herring. The diet is about eating within five consecutive hours. This does not mean that one should eat continuously without thinking. Eat means eat as much as one is hungry and as much as one can. In this article, we shall know the procedure, effects and side effects of fast 5 diet.
The Procedure: How to Start Fast 5 Diet
Let us know what is ‘Eating Window’. Eating window is the period of 5 consecutive hours of eating. There are two ways of starting fast 5 diet namely: Cold Turkey and Gradual Adjustment Approach.
Cold Turkey: In this way one needs to simply choose that he will not eat anything until the eating window opens. This way is effective but requires patience before finally reaching the target time. During this period the third, fourth or fifth day may be the hardest to get through. Little after it gets easier.
Adjustment Approach: In this there are 2 ways. This is also called adaptation approach. Here the time one first eats is gradually pushed back by the same interval. For example, half an hour or one hour everyday till the day the person is committed to fast on the window opening time.
Another adjustment time is rachet approach where the time is postponed till it reaches the window opening time. It may be an half an hour or hour later.
