Not everyone is naturally gifted with beautiful, long and thick eyelashes but they do wish to have. Simply by applying false eyelashes you can get thicker and longer eyelashes. But fake eyelashes cannot enhance your beauty the way natural thick eyelashes do. Hence let’s discuss natural methods, ways and remedies to strengthen your eyelashes.
Groom your Eyelashes Properly:
Like any other body part eyelashes require proper care and attention. For silky, thick and healthy eyelashes you need to groom them properly. Eyelash grooming starts with brushing your eyelashes at least twice a day. Special eyelash brushes are available in the market. In case you don’t find eyelash brush then you can use your mascara brush. Before brushing your eyelashes oil the eyelash brush with warm olive oil or castor oil. This will enhance the growth of eyelashes as well as make them softer and thicker. You can even use rose oil or burdock oil for this purpose. Regular brushing and application of oil ensures healthy and silky growth of eyelashes.
Carefully Remove Eye Make-Up:
Daily usage of eye shadow and mascara has become a part of daily routine. It is observed that many a times eye make-up is removed in haste and improperly. Improper removal of eye make-up also affects your eyelashes badly. Hence you need to be careful while removing eye make-up. Make sure that before going to bed you properly remove your eye make-up so that your eyelashes can rest peacefully in night.
For removing eye make-up you can use regular make-up removal or any plant oil. Make sure that you don’t apply pressure while removing eye make-up. Since the skin around your eyes is highly sensitive make sure that you remove make-up by soft movements, avoid stretching or pulling. Usually the movements are spiral starting from roots to the end of the eyelashes. For washing your face you can use black or chamomile tea as it will reduce the chances of inflammation.
Home Remediesfor Thick and Strong Eyelashes:
You can easily strengthen your eyelashes with simple home remedies. These home remedies are easy, hassle free and highly effective. Some of the home remedies are listed below:
- Before going to bed apply a coat of olive oil or castor oil on your eyelashes.
- In case you are looking for results in a short span of time then try trimming your eyelashes a bit. It might sound odd but provides fast and effective results.
- Before going to bed with the help of eyelash brush or mascara brush apply Vaseline on your eyelashes.
- Mix equal quantity of glycerin and castor oil and before going to bed apply this mixture on your eyelashes.
- Prepare an eye lotion at home. For this home-made eye lotion you need to prepare a decoction of cornflower and calendula flower. You can use decoction as eye compresses.
Regular use of these home remedies will improve the condition of your eyelashes. But in case you find no improvement then it is better to visit a dermatologist.

Hi,
When you say vaseline, what type of vaseline. Is there a special vaseline for eyelashes or do u mean like lip kinda vaseline or lotion kind?

well if you do leave the olive oil in for the night or even just put it on will you get an eye infection or anything. Will your eye get irretated??
I’ve been using Vaseline (the regular petroleum jelly kind) for about 2 years now and it does actually help lengthen and condition your lashes. I use Covergirl’s waterproof LashBlast mascara everyday and before I go to bed, I take off my makeup and apply a thin layer of Vaseline both on the bottom and tops of my lashes. I always get the Vaseline in my eyes but it doesn’t really do anything to you (minus the slight blurriness you experience because of the jelly on your eye). The blurriness goes away though after a couple of minutes.
