Important remedies for eye irritation
Following are some of the important remedies that help to reduce eye irritation:
Take a break: Relax your eyes for every one or two hours if you are using it for long time, say while driving or in front of a computer.
Use protective screen: Place a protective screen on the video terminal, to cut glare and radiation.
Change your focus: When you read a book for long time, take a break for one or two minutes in between and focus on a distant object. Close the book for every half an hour and look at something out of the window or across the room. This relaxes your eyes and prevents irritation.
Take a tea break: Have tea during your breaks or sitting in front of the computer for long time. It relaxes and reduces the strain and eye irritation.
Rose water eye drops: Prepare rose water solution by adding 5 drops of rose water to 1 ounce of purified or distilled water. Rinse your eyes with this solution. Use an eye cup or a dropper and make sure that water is not too hot or too cold.
Rinse the eyes with water: Wash your eyes with water. It also helps in relieving irritation of an eye.
Use of Castor oil: Put a drop of pure Castor oil in your eyes at bedtime. It is one of the best remedy to reduce irritation.
For bloodshot eyes: Drink one cup of fresh orange juice with a pinch of cumin and half tea spoon of natural sugar if your eyes are bloodshot or have some irritation.
