There are several types of eye infections that has different causes, symptoms and treatments. Mainly eye infections are caused by viral, bacterial and other microbiological agents. Some of these infections are rare while others are common.

- Some infections are harmless and some are relatively dangerous. It requires medical attention. If they are not treated, may cause irreversible damage to the delicate eye tissue. This may result in vision loss.
- Use an ointment or topical solution prescribed by the general practitioner in order to treat the infection. You can also use antibiotic eye drops.
- Before using any medicine, know all the side effects of them.
Home care
- During healing time, do not rub or touch the eyes. Use a warm or cool compress to relieve any itchiness or discomfort.
- Make a cold or warm compress by using a cotton swab or clean cloth.
- Use only purified or boiled water to wet the cloth. Then place it on the closed eye.
- Discomfort of the eye can be reduced using a warm compress.
- Eye inflammation (swelling) and itchiness can be reduced using a cold compress.
Natural remedies
