Eyes are very important part of one’s body. There are many times that one tends to suffer from Eye Infections. At such times the eyes get red or are swollen and sometimes have some discharge. These are eye ailments that are caused by bacterial, viral, or other microbiological agents. The intensity of such infections varies from person to person. There are many different types of eye infections with different causes and treatments.
Each one surely must have had an experience with regards to an eye infection. Either we would have come upon an eye infection or know someone who has had one. People who wear contact lenses often find themselves getting some type of eye infection. This is due to the bacterial buildup from constantly wearing the lenses without proper disinfecting. Certain infection stay only for a few days but it does not mean that you don’t need medical help. Although some are not as dangerous, there are some eye infections that require a doctor’s immediate attention.

Eye Infections can affect any part of the eyes from the eyelids to the cornea and even to the optic nerves in the back of the eye.
In cases where one uses Contact Lenses
- Immediately remove your contact lenses, and don’t put another set in your eyes.
Store your lenses in a case with solution to take to your eye doctor. He or she may need to examine them to diagnose the problem. - Immediately contact your eye doctor, and don’t wear your lenses again until after you’ve spoken with your doctor.
We cannot afford to loose our eyes so make sure you take proper care of them.
