Eye cyst is also known as chalazion. It is a condition of lump formation on the lower or upper eyelids. Cysts are filled with fluid and they appear swollen. This article gives information about how to treat an eye cyst.
Treatment
There are no definite treatments for the cysts. However, in order to soothe the swelling and manage the symptoms, a few tips are given here:
- Wash your eyes regularly for about six times a day and keep them clean. Use warm water and cleanser, or mild medicated soap to wash your eyes.
- Use warm and wet compress. It helps to soothe your eyes. Make a compress by using a cotton swab or clean cloth. Use only purified or boiled water to wet the cloth. Then, place it over the eyes 4 to 6 times a day. Wash your hands before you apply a compress. Place the compress over the eye until it starts getting cooled.
- Apply a mixture of rosewater and honey on your eyes. It helps in quick healing of the cyst.
Signs and symptoms of eye cysts are swelling of the eyelids, sensitivity to light, tenderness and a heavy feeling of the eyelids.
