Pink eye, also known as conjunctivitis is a very contagious disease and is normally caused by bacteria, virus or allergens. Your eyes become watery, itchy, red and light sensitive. - You can make eyewash by mixing Oregon grape root with chamomile flower and boiling water. Use 2 cups of water, 2 teaspoon of the flower and 1 teaspoon of the root. After mixing the ingredients let the eyewash cool for 20 minutes before using it.
- Boil some water and then add considerable amount of salt in the boiling water and dissolve it. Take some cotton balls and sink them deep into the water so that the balls can absorb as much salt as possible. Pick up a cotton ball and place in over your closed and infected eye for at least 5 minutes. The salted water drips inside your eyes and can be little painful but the chances of getting cured remains high.
- It may sound a little weird to your ears but breast milk works on the conjunctivitis. Use two three drops of the milk every couple of hours either directly from the source or ask someone who is lactating to donate a small amount in the in a medicine dropper.
- A drop of lemon in your eyes can do the trick for you. It terribly hurts but works in a very short time.
