    Easy Home Remedies for Nausea

    Nausea is not an illness in itself. It is a symptom of several unhealthy conditions one’s body is in. Before you learn how to deal nausea, it’s better you know the causes of it. Nausea is mainly due to:

    • Problems with your digestive system
    • Traveling
    • Alcoholism and alcohol abuse; also drugs
    • Sleep deprivation
    • Stress- physical and emotional
    • Overeating or intake of large amount of sugary foods
    • Medicines consumed for a therapy
    • Food intolerance
    • Pregnancy
    • Migraine
    • Bulimia
    • Depression
    • Diabetes
    • Flu
    • Food poisoning
    • Gastroenteritis (Stomach Flu)

    Several other chronic diseases also have symptoms of Nausea. But this can be differentiated by considering the frequency of nausea one experiences.
    However, nausea can be attended very quickly and effectively with a few simple alternative remedies. They are:

    • Consume 1 to 2 tbsp of any non-carbonated syrup to bring relief to your digestive system and cool your stomach
    • Eat fresh piece of ginger with a pinch of salt or drink ginger tea for instant relief
    • Peppermint or chamomile tea is also capable helping you get rid of the nauseating feeling
    • Boil 1/2 cup of rice in 1 cup of water for 10-20 minutes. Separate the water from the cooked rice and drink the rice water
    • Consume 1/2 tea spoon grounded cumin seed to find relief from nausea and vomiting
    • Acupressure can benefit provided you know the right pressure points. You can do this by applying pressure between the thumb and forefinger. This would help remove the queasy feeling and stop vomiting sensations. Anyway, you are advised to consult an acupressure specialist to know the right pressure point
    • If you are suffering from nausea as a condition of morning sickness during pregnancy, then take – a mix of 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar and 1 tbsp honey in cold water – before going to bed. If you can tolerate dairy products then wheat germ mixed with milk every hour will also help you get rid of nausea

    Nausea can be completely controlled with your healthy dietary habits. Simple diet that one can take care of is:

    • Smaller amounts of food are always good for you. Once you start feeling better you can start taking fiber rich diet such as banana, rice, apple sauce and toast
    • A fresh and healthy diet of fruits and vegetables is always good
    • You should completely stop having junk, spicy and oily food

    Prolonging and recurring nauseating feeling should be checked and administered through medical care.
