What is bronchial asthma?
This condition is known as Tomaka Shwasa in Ayurveda. It is a respiratory condition that is a result of allergies to multiple allergens and can be very dangerous, even fatal. It is now more common than ever due to pollution and unhealthy changes in lifestyle. The causes could range from food allergies to bacterial infections. There are, however, certain herbs and mixtures in Ayurveda that can help cure this condition and give relief.
Ayurvedic treatment of bronchial asthma
There are many herbs and herbal mixtures that can be used to take care of this condition. These are safe and effective, providing immense relief.
- Agastya rasayana: This is useful especially for those who have this condition along with constipation. It also helps treat congestion and reduces severity and frequency of the attacks.
- Chyavana prasha: This mixture is useful for those with this condition and who are weak physically and physiologically. It help reduce frequency and severity of attacks.
Either of these two medicines should be taken three times a day, about two spoon-fulls each time. This has to be done for at least three weeks to start noticing any sort of improvement in your condition. They may interfere with appetite or cause diarrhea. In this case, you can reduce the dosage a bit.
- Sitopaladi churna and Pippali powder: They are helpful especially in the early stages of the condition. They give relief from the symptoms and help in healing you.
Mix both of these in equal quantities with an equal amount of honey. Have this mixture about three or four times a day daily.
Causes of bronchial asthma
it can start off from a gastrointestinal tract and stomach. From this it can go on to an asthma attach due to oversensitivity to allergens like dust, pollen, animal hair and even certain bacteria.
