Ayurveda has a Dosha system. There are three basic Doshas or body types, namely, Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Each of these is governed by two of the five basic elements of Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Ether and each one governs certain bodily and mental functions and processes.
The mouth is mainly dominated by the Kapha Dosha which is why it is essential to balance this Dosha, no matter which body type you are, in order to maintain good dental health. There are many simple methods in Ayurveda by which you can keep your teeth in good condition and maintain good oral health.
