In Ayurveda, scanty menstruation is termed as Anartava or Nashtartava. There are various Ayurvedic remedies to cure scanty menstruation. Ayurvedic Remedies for Scanty Menstruation
Following are some of the Ayurvedic home remedies for scanty menstruation:
- Boil carrot seeds to prepare a decoction. Take 15 to 30 ml twice daily to help relieve the condition.
- Pound equal quantities of dried ginger, black sesame seeds, ajwain and jaggery to make a powder. Take 3 to 6 grams twice daily along with warm water.
- Pound the dried seeds of radish and carrot. Take 1 gram of powder with warm water to cure scanty periods.
- Saffron has also been successfully used to treat women’s ailments like scanty menses and amenorrhea. A pinch or two can be mixed in a glass of warm milk and taken daily.
- Boil kalaunji and soya powder and cotton root bark to make a decoction. Mix jaggery and take 50 ml, warmed, twice daily.
- Women with scanty periods should increase their intake of raw onions and garlic.
- Pound some sesame seeds and mix jaggery. Take 20 grams twice daily.
- Extract fresh juice of aloe vera and take 20 to 30 ml twice daily.
- Crush the raw fruits of pineapple and extract the juice. Take 20 to 30 ml twice daily to cure the condition of scanty periods.
