Fruit and Yogurt – This combination can be troublesome, but on their own they are very healthy. These two do not mix well because Fruit is sweet in taste but yogurt is sour to taste. But milk or cheese may be used instead. Lot of mucous is secreted when yogurt is mixed with fruit sugar. Thus, you end up having a sticky material into your stomach. This can block the release of enzymes and absorption of food nutrients. The enzyme that digests milk is secreted from the small intestine. But when your milky food is turned into a sticky mass of mucous, the enzyme no more gets released. Thus, the food is then degraded by the bacteria in our stomach making us suffer from gas and stomach disorders.
Many think ‘Yogurt and Fruit’ as a very healthy breakfast; but it is true only if consumed separately with adequate interval between eating each of them. If you are addicted to this combination. Do not panic. Consuming this once in a while is quite okay. And allergenic foods are often addictive. With due time and self control you will get over it. Digestive problems are common. But prolonged problem may affect your body in a very hazardous way. Your skin also may get affected; dullness, dryness and rashes on skin are common.
If you are unable to control your craze. Here is the way for you. have fruits in the morning in a good amount to fill your appetite. Then make a glass of Lassi and drink it after some time gap. Lassi is prepared of yogurt, water (rose water may be used instead), dry fruits (cashew, kismis, almonds) and spices (cardamom, cumin). Or You can just do the reverse of it. You will feel your food getting digested faster without any ill effects.
