Sources of Sattvic Foods
Sattvic foods are given as follows:
- Grains – white rice
- Fruits — Peaches, pears, figs, mango, coconut
- Vegetables — Sprouts, lettuce, squash, parsley and sweet potato
- Beans — lime, lentils, kidney
- Dairy — Yogurt, milk
- Meats should be avoided, but in moderate amounts fish can be taken.
- Intoxicants should be prohibited.
Ayurvedic Diet for Women going for Conception
According to Garbhaadhaan Sanskar in Ayurveda, lean and slim body of a woman going for conception is described as the best. It motivates the birth of exceptional child. The Ayurvedic sattvic diet will help you gain healthy, lean and slim body. There are some modifications in diet like –
- Ghee should be replaced with oil. Oil can be either mustard, coconut or sesame oil.
- Barley with milk should be taken.
- More protein and less fat and carbohydrates should be taken.
Ayurveda also prescribes diet for men going for conception
- To give birth to a good progeny, the man should be strong, robust and pure.
- A man should also follow sattvic diet.
- He should eat milk, rice and ghee in large quantities.
- More dry fruits should be eaten, especially almonds.
