Watering eyes is a common symptom of allergies. This can be caused by pollen allergy or other breathable allergens such as animal dander. It is also possible to get symptoms of eye allergy from other kinds of allergy triggers, such as food or allergies to something you touch.
Symptoms of Eye Allergies
-
tears
mucus produced in the eyes
conjuctivitis or pink eye
asthma
red, swollen or itchy eyes
runny nose
sneezing and coughing
itchy nose, mouth and throat
headache produced by sinus congestion
fatigue and insomnia
Symptoms of eye allergies can occur in the eyes, nose and throat. Therefore, it is not always clear if it is your eyes that are affected when majority of the symptoms occur in the throat or nose. It is however likely that the allergy affects the eyes when along with other symptoms, you experience symptoms in the eyes/ these can be tears, swelling or any number of eye symptoms that can occur.
Causes for Eye Allergy
Common reasons for eye allergies are:
-
pollen
mold
dust
pet dander
These allergy triggers often affect the eyes. This is because eyes are often directly in contact with these allergens due to the fact that they are all airborne substances.
Treatment for Watery Eyes
-
Avoidance of allergic triggers is the best way to treat the allergy
Sunglasses that protect your eyes from all sides are good for avoiding both allergens and excess sunlight which can aggravate symptoms of eye allergies.
Eye drops, which wash the allergen out are good to use when suffering from watery eyes.
Decongestants can help with redness in the eyes.
These are the ways that eye allergies occur and ways they can be treated. If allergy symptoms in the eys persist, even with the aid of these treatment options, you can consult a doctor or an allergy specialist in order to find medical treatment for watery eyes.

It never fails to come this time of year. Then for me, it seems like it turns into a sinus infection too. The one thing that I am doing to try and stay healthy is taking my Vidazorb probiotic! I have read how great they can be for this and I just want to do all I can to keep my body strong and healthy for life! I am also drinking more water, exercising and eating more whole foods.
