Hay fever, which is medically known as seasonal allergic rhinitis, is a very common allergic reaction to the mold spores and pollens released from trees, plants and grasses as well. The mold spores and pollens are carried by the wind. Since they are airborne, while inhaling we take them into our system.
Consequently our body’s immune system starts considering them as a foreign body, it results in producing several chemicals like histamines. There are some other allergens that contribute to hay fever including cats, dogs, rabbits, house-dust mites,, horses and pigs.
