What is an Egg Allergy?
Whenever a foreign substance enters into the body, the body responds and produce antihistamines to fight with the allergen and causes inflammation of the skin. This is an allergic reaction. Similarly, when a kid eats egg, the immune system of the body is not fully developed and cannot handle the egg protein. Thus, a kid might feel sick after eating an egg and may get rashes on the skin. Symptoms of Egg Allergy
Some symptoms by which we can know a child has an egg allergy are as follows:
- Skin symptoms — Swelling, flushing and eczema.
- Digestive system symptoms — Diarrhea, belly pain, nausea, itching near mouth and vomiting.
- Respiratory system symptoms — Wheezing, coughing, sneezing, runny nose and difficulty breathing.
- Cardiovascular system symptoms — Low blood pressure, rapid heartbeat and other heart problems.
The above are a few allergic symptoms in babies due to an egg allergy. In some kids, the allergic symptoms can be so severe that it can lead to anaphylaxis, which needs immediate medical attention. A kid may experience severe breathing problems and a sudden drop in blood pressure.
