Running without wearing shoes while barefoot is Barefoot Running.
A new study reported on January 27, 2010, says that running barefoot causes less collision force to the feet than in cushioned shoes.
Research reported on January 28, 2010 in the issue of the journal Nature says that runners who run with barefoot or sometimes flat-footed, land on the balls of their feet. While runners in shoes tend to land on their heels. This results in the less production of collision in barefoot runners than in cushioned shoe runners.
The researchers show the anecdotal reports of barefoot populations having reduced injuries But they are on the testing process to know whether barefoot runners have been reduced their injury rate.
By running on the bare foots you land on the middle or front of the foot or on the balls of the feet. This helps you to avoid forceful affects and reduce injuries.
Many individual think running barefoot leads to foot and knee injuries. Actually you can run barefoot without any pain and injuries on the world’s hardest areas.
According to Madhusudhan Venkadesan, running barefoot or in minimal shoes is less painful than in sandals or cushion shoes. Because each time when your foot lands on the ground it causes smaller collisions and reduces strain.
Running barefoot makes you land more on your toes thus avoiding collisions or spring leg and decreasing the effect.
Lieberman says you can avoid using running shoes slowly to build foot muscles and strength in the calf.
Health benefits of barefoot running:
Most runners support that barefoot running is very healthier for feet and lowers the risk of chronic injuries like- repetitive stress injuries. Some research support and some advocate the health benefits of barefoot running. But, medical and sports organisations do not accept it widely.
The benefits of barefoot running can be restored by using gloves for the feet which provides protection, improves balance and grip.
