Overweight or obese people constantly suffer with hunger pangs. Experts opine that obese people remain hungry most of the time inspite of eating regularly because they usually tend to binge on unhealthy foods. As a result the body continues to crave for essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals, calcium, etc.
With constant efforts to satisfy one’s appetite by force or by habit, an obese person stuffs himself or herself with unhealthy foods like white bread, sweets and whatever foods which appeals to their taste most.
You can’t stop eating because it becomes a “vicious circle” where your body needs nourishment but you are filling it with the unhealthiest foods, thereby leaving the body unsatisfied and hungry.
Experts state that the most obvious and common excuse dieters give for not being able to control their hunger is — “the lack of will power“. Experts believe that “will” is nothing but one’s conscious desire. So when an overweight person says that he or she lacks will power, it implies that the willingness to lose weight is alive in that person but the flesh or body is not helping him or her achieve the same.
Experts believe that it isn’t about “lacking will power” but about “not utilizing the will power in proper way“. Researchers state that obese people have a strong urge to lose weight quickly but just don’t know how to go about in the right way.
Infact, the will power of obese or fat people is often confronted with what we call “temptation“. In most cases, temptation wins over will power.
Researchers have found a way to beat this dilemma of temptation winning over will power all the time. They say that it like swimming in a river with current; your ability to swim being your will power and the current being the temptation to obstruct you from swimming to the shore.
Now, they say that if you swim against the current, it is most likely that you’ll be swept away but you’ll keep fighting to swim to the shore. On the other hand, if you go with the current, you are actually escaping it.
So experts claim that there are options to get freedom even within a situation which implies that you can go with the current or temptation and at the same escape it fruitfully to lose weight both creatively and constructively.
So it not a matter of fighting temptation with the help of your will power but about going along with temptation and resisting it with by eating healthy and nutritious foods. Therefore, the key to putting your will power into effect is to “do“ or implement the meal plans, portion size and exercises suggested and recommended by your doctor and/or dietitians.
