- Shastra Prayoga
- Anushastra Prayoga
Shastra Prayoga
- Pracchana — Prachanna is administered in order to remove blood from a particular point in the body.
- Sira Vedhana — It is also called Venepuncture. This is devised whenever there is flow of adulterated blood.
Anushastra Prayoga
- Sringa — Horn is used to extract blood by vata.
- Jalouka Prayoga — leech is administered to extract blood as leech is able to extract deep seated vitiated blood.
- Alabu — Alabu is made up of ushna and tikshna gunas, thus blood adulterated by kapha pitta can be extracted.
- Ghati Yantra – Ghati yantra is administered when vitiated blood is settled in different skin layers. It is another form of raktamoksha therapy.
