Ayurvedic face masks for glowing skin
Ayurvedic masks are very simple yet effective. Different masks can be used to suit different skin types, problems and seasons. Each one works in its own way to make the skin look and feel amazingly smooth, soft and healthy.
- Conditioning mask: You can mix two spoons fresh cream with a spoon of honey to make a paste. Apply this all over face and neck, leave for a few minutes and then wash with plain water.
- Cleansing mask: You can mix a small spoon of curd with half a tomato, three small spoons of Fuller’s earth and a few drops of orange essential oil to make a thick paste, apply all over the face and neck and wash after about twenty minutes.
- Protection mask: You can mix rose water with glycerin and cucumber juice and apply all over face and neck. Leave for a few minutes before washing off with water. It acts as sun protection.
- Radiance mask: Mix chopped or mashed papaya, lettuce, tomato, grapes and apples with two small spoons of yogurt and a few drops of lemon essential oil, apply on skin and wash off with plain water after about fifteen minutes.
- Rejuvenation mask: You can mix turmeric and sandalwood powder with milk to make a thick paste. Apply this and wash off after a few minutes with plain water.
Although these masks are natural and are safe to use, different types of skin may react differently to them. It is, therefore, important that you keep certain things in mind when you go for any of these masks.
- Make sure that you wash your face before applying any mask.
- Be sure of cleaning the mask off your face within twenty minutes of application.
- Cover both face and neck with the mask.
- Make sure to apply the mask on a small area of skin, especially if you have sensitive skin.
- These masks should not be applied over wounds, bruises or broken skin.
