Every year, the Catholic church makes it a requirement that all the catholics should pray, fast and abstain themselves from eating even meat during the religious solemn season. Steps for Following a Good Friday Fasting
Follow these simple steps to have an amazing and correct Good Friday fasting experience:
- The first requirement for doing a Good Friday fast is that, only those who are in between the age of 18-59 can actually carry out the fast. However, there are a few exceptions in this age range. People who are of unsound mind, the frail and sick, manual labourers and nursing or pregnant women are excused from doing a Good Friday fasting or a lent fasting.
- For those who are eligible to actually do the Good Friday or Lent fasting, you are required to eat less than they normally would eat. To be more specific, in a three meal day, one meal can be a full healthy one and the other two have to be relatively smaller. In the end, the two small meals should not exceed the quantity of the main meal.
- To be able to fast properly on Good Friday, always remember that you restrict yourself from eating between each of your meals. However, you are allowed to drink between your meals. But, make sure that the drink is not a milk shake or a smoothie. Any thing that is a drink but is considered as food, should not be consumed.
