What is Rozah?
Rozah is , the fasting observed by the followers of Islam all around the world during the auspicious month of Ramadan. Rozah is one of the five pillars of Islam. Muslims believe that Allah made is compulsory to fast during the month of Ramadan and he himself gives the rewards for fasting during this month.
Essence of Rozah :
– The fasting commences by seeing the full month of a month and ends with seeing it again on the next month.
– Rozah symbolizes a month spent on self- introspection, restraint , prayers and penance.
– During this month, Muslims express their gratitude to the almighty for blessing them with prosperity.
– Fasting observed during this month make them realize the pain and suffering the less fortunate people experience on daily basis in this world.
– The Rozah observed from the dawn to dusk, is broken at the end of the day by a sumptuous meal called “Iftaar”.
The benefits:
– According to Islam, a Muslim should be healthy, clean, alert and energetic. It is medically proved that observing Rozah enhances the health.
– Non-vegetarian food items are part of Islamic diet. The consumption of such food items , rich in oil and spices increase the content of fats in our body.
– On observing Roza h, the body gets an opportunity to utilize the accumulated fats in the body for carrying out the normal functioning of the body.
– The toxic substances also are excreted by the body during Rozah. That is why , the Muslims practice “Uzu” which involves a thorough cleaning of the body before offering the evening prayer.
– Roza helps in treating emotional and psychological disorders.
– Roza helps in immuring the body from chronic stomach ache, indigestion , liver disorders , obesity, inflammation of colon, high blood pressure , asthma, arteriosclerosis and diphtheria.
– The decaying tissues of the body are quickly replaced by new tissues because of the Rozah followed by Iftaar. This restores youthfulness and ensures longevity.
– Roza also tests the character of a person by strengthening his will, refine his tastes, stay away from controversy, be gentle and kind in mannerism leading to development of a pleasing persona.
