The villain called ‘dark circles’
Dark circles under eyes are a very common facial beauty problem. The skin beneath the eyes is very delicate and is thinly made up of oil glands unlike the skin on rest of the body. Due to several reasons the skin under the eyes becomes dry and thin. The veins below the eyes appear prominently when the under eye skin becomes dry and thin. This lends the area a dark appearance.
Causes
Heredity is the primary cause of dark circles. Like so many things – eye color, curly or straight hair, and skin tone – predisposition for dark circles is mostly inherited. Heredity however is not the only cause of dark circles. A variety of factors, both common and uncommon, can influence or cause the appearance of dark circles under the eyes.
