Another speech disorder in adults is Apraxia , which is also known as motor speech disorder. This particular speech disorder is caused due to the damage of the speech-related parts in the brain.Patients suffering from this speech disorder, usually find it difficult to put the syllables sounds together to make words. In this case the therapist engage the patient with an exercise that makes the pace of the speech slow and makes him practice the sound over and over.

Dysathria is a situation when jaw muscles are weakened and causes problems while speaking. To cure this situation, the therapists ask the patient to act like a mirror and mimic all the movements that the therapist makes. These include different movements like smiling, silly facial expressions, frowning, blowing kisses etc.
