Treatment of allergies using Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET) is very peculiar. Most of the scientific communities do not accept this technique for the reason that its efficacy has not been proved beyond possible placebo effects. In this article, we intend only to give information on the subject. This article should not be taken as standard for allergy treatments by this method.
Let us briefly cover the diagnostic part of the technique: In NAET allergens are determined by a specific testing known as “Surrogate testing.” Some substances are placed on the patient’s hand and the practitioner tests if the arm resists being pulled by him. If the hand is weak then the substance is considered as an allergen to the body.
All allergens are found and the testing is completed in several sessions. When completed, the practitioner starts the treatment by acupressure and acupuncture. The acupressure is administered according to Dr. Devi Nambudripad’s protocol. Acupressure is done to re-program the body’s response to the future contacts of the allergens. It also aims at relieving symptoms of allergy in the body.
NAET treatment technique is non-invasive and seems very simple. It involves stimulating the nerve roots along the spine at the acupuncture spots or points. It is done either by hands or with a pressure device. This is done while the patient is holding the allergen on his palm, touching the sample with his fingers. All patients above the age of 10 are treated in the same way, by receiving acupuncture needles on the specific points in the front part of the body.
Bottom-line of the treatment is: Acupressure over-energizes the meridians and creates a state of free-energy flow.
