Knee injuries and pain occur very often among runners. A major portion of your weight is carried by our legs and a feet. As knee is a joint portion so there are more chances for knee injuries and pain in the knees.

- Patellofemoral Syndrome
Patellofemoral Syndrome is also known as ” Runner’s Knee” with a kneecap or patella. There are a few common injuries like generalized knee pain or patellar tendonitis and chondromalacia. Most of the times, runner’s knee is referred to as the above mentioned injuries. Most of the times, treatment for chondromalacia is controversial. One of the effective ways of treating knee pain is by resting and adhering to the programs involving physical therapy. - Dislocating Knee Cap
There are acute symptoms which are caused by a dislocated knee cap, during knee dislocation. Generally, people who are suffering knee dislocation will be recommended to do physiotherapy exercises. By doing physiotherapy exercises, there are better chances of improving the dislocated knee cap. There are a few factors which are responsible for knee cap instability, that possibly include a wider pelvis, gait abnormalities and a groove for your kneecap. - Plica Syndrome
When there is irritation in the lining of the knee joint then plica syndrome is said to occur. Lining of the knee joint becomes very important in a few individuals and can form plica shelf. When the plica shelf becomes inflamed, then there are chances for knee pain to occur. Plica syndrome can be diagnosed by physical examination or by arthroscopic surgery. The characteristics of plica syndrome are similar to that of patellar tendonitis and meniscal tears. Plica syndrome can be treated by anti-inflammatory medications and resting your knee joint. Injection of cortisone can be helpful for those who are suffering from knee pain.
