Glasses and contacts weaken your eyes. There is no doubting that. Over a period of time, your eyes get so used to seeing through glasses and contacts that they lose their credibility.
There have also been incidents where excessive use of glasses and contacts have worsened eye vision.
Glasses and Contacts Weaken your Eyes: There is no arguing the point that glasses or contacts help us see a lot better.
But, if you look at your eye care history, you will observe that your eye sight has only gone from bad to worse rather than improve. This is the case in spite of you using your glasses regularly. Then, what is the point of using them?
Usually, in the the case of refractive eye errors there is a problem of vision as the object is not focussed onto the retina properly. But, despite this error, eyes try to adapt themselves to a mechanism where they can bring the object into focus.
But upon the insertion of contacts or usage of glasses, the eye is stopped from doing this and it does not learn to adapt any more. This is the very reason you see your eye sight diminishing though you regularly use glasses.
For instance, when you wore your first glasses, you might have experienced severe headaches and tears in the eyes.
This was because your eyes were trying to cope with the external visual aid. Within a few weeks they adjust to the glasses and you would be perfectly alright with them. But,over a long-term the effects start to show.
The only better alternative to having a long-term better vision is to learn to see properly. Weakened vision would mean your eye muscles are weak and there lies the core problem.
Glasses only act as a medium through which vision can be corrected but, they do not address the core issue in any way.
Over a period of time glasses make matters worse.
The best thing you can give your eyes is a little relaxation frequently everyday. Also, try to use your glasses only when you think you really need them.
Glasses and contacts weaken your eyes and regular eye exercises would help your eyes from a long-term damage.
